Grow an interactive tree

WoeLab

The Interactive Tree is a #LowHighTech version of Edge of Chaos, a work by the Interactive Architecture Lab and Soft Robotic Matter Group.

The workshop teaches children about electricity and recycling. Participants use an assortment of e-waste and repurposed objects to build an interactive tree, which has roots, a trunk, branches and remote-controlled origami fruit. Assembled using a kit developed by WoeLab, the completed interactive tree becomes a connected artefact that that responds to touch with sound, light and movement.
